Major Week for Cambridge Tennis

Major Week for Cambridge Tennis

Both girls and boys tennis teams at Cambridge are poised for a great week at the regional tournament which will take place Tuesday, April 16, at Laurel Park in Marietta at 4:00 p.m.

The boys lost their most recent match to Alpharetta last week (see story) but have a strong record going into this week's tournament.

The girls were able to tough it out against a very competitive Raiders team to win 3-2 last Wednesday April 10th.

The weather had taken a drastic turn as the Lady Bears hit the courts. The players were able to adjust to playing in the heat and pull off the close victory. Karah James at one singles fought hard but lost to a very talented player.  Hannah Baird at two singles and Kayla Rycroft at three singles both split sets.  They were able to stay hydrated and really fight hard for their victories.  Unfortunately Kayla Rycroft fell short in the tiebreak.

Brenna Feirer and Kiley Dempsey at one doubles and Hannah Walden and Alyssa McDonald at two doubles were able to secure wins for the young Cambridge Lady Bears tennis team. At exhibition our favorite senior, Shannon Traylor, played a fantastic match and was able to pull out a win!

Congratulations to Shannon for winning on her senior night!

Now, both teams jump into region action at Laurel Park.  This is the address: 151 Manning Rd. SW, Marietta, GA 30064
