The Cambridge JV girls soccer team came out to play on Monday night, February 22nd.
Their offense came out attacking as Hannah Behner (#38) scored the first goal 2 minutes into 1st half of the game. Creekview would try to score with 14 minutes left in the half with a wonderful shot right below crossbar, but Anna Johnson (#0 GK) tipped the ball away, and Creekview was denied the goal. With 2 minutes left in the half, Rebecca Davis (#27) is passed the ball and misses just slightly to the side of the goal.
Cambridge enters the 2nd half leading 1-0. Creekview has a wonderful shot on goal 7 minutes into 2nd half, but Cat Powers (#41 GK) is able to contain the shot. Creekview strikes 14 minutes into the half as they score on a quick shot goal, tieing the score at 1-1.
Hannah Behner scores another goal in the 17th minute to take the lead 2-1. In the 30th minute into the 2nd half, Hannah Behner again tries to score with a beautiful shot on goal but is denied! The score remains at 2-1.
The last shot of the game by Cambridge is by Shura McCartin (#37), but once again, the goal is denied. The final score is 2-1. The Cambridge JV girls win.
Cambridge showed better possession of the ball by the forwards and definitely a better focus on defense.
Next up, Cambridge plays this week on Thursday, February 25, against Forsyth Central @ Forsyth Central.
Go BEARS!!
