STATE SECTIONAL HERE WE COME: CAMBRIDGE BOYS WIN REGION - GIRLS FINISH RUNNER UP

 
On April 22 and 24, the Cambridge track & field team went to Blessed Trinity Catholic High School for the region championship meet. Both days produced noteworthy performances by the team, and five school records were established. Overall, the boys earned the region championship trophy and the girls won the runner-up trophy in their respective categories. Now, the team advances to North Oconee High School for the state sectional meet on the first Saturday on May.  The team is fully committed to working hard and doing their best in that meet to earn the right to go to state.
 
A look at the noteworthy performances, include the following:
 
Lilah Versluis - won the long jump, high jump, triple jump (establishing a new school record) and 100 meter hurdles.
 
Kai McCarley - won the 200 meters and the 400 meters .
 
Ella Alberici  - won the 1600 meters (establishing a new school record) and the 3200 meters.
 
Kennedy Williams - was sixth in the 100 meter and second in the 200 meters.
 
Taylor Lasoff - was eighth in the 100 meters and second in the 300 meter hurdles.
 
Hannah Jones was seventh in the high jump and fifth in the long jump.
 
Jensen Kelley - was sixth in the 200 meters.
 
Lauren Tindle - was seventh in the 3200 meters 
 
Sarah McBride - was eighth in the 800 meters.
 
Grayson Peterson - won the 1600 meters and the 3200 meters.
 
Grant Campbell - won the high jump and was second in the long jump (establishing a new school record), and finished eighth in the triple jump 
 
Ibrahim Bangura -won the 110 meter hurdles (establishing a new school record) and finished second in the 300 meter hurdles.
 
Francisco Palacios- Rodriguez - was third in the 1600 meters and fourth in the 3200 meters.
 
Thomas Egan - was fourth in the shot pit and third in the discus.
 
Mohamed  Bangura - was fifth in the triple jump (establishing a new school record) and sixth in the 110 meter hurdles.
 
Aidan McHugh - was sixth in the 1600 meters and eighth in the 3200 meters 
 
Rohan Lidhar - finished sixth in the pole vault and sixth in the triple jump.
 
Craig Dandridge - was third in the high jump, second in the 200 meters and second in the 100 meters.
 
Louie Madrid - was fifth in the 200 meters and fifth in the 400 meters.
 
Harris Carr - finished third in the shot put 
 
Jad Meliani - was eighth in the 110 meter hurdles.
 
Cameron Parodi - won the 100 meters 
 
Mavric Gould - was third in the 800 meters
 
Tanav Prabhu - was fourth in the 800 meters.
 
Corbin Phillips - finished seventh in the 200 meters.
 
Ethan Umberger - was sixth in the long jump 
 
Pierson Delp - was fifth in the discus.
 
Dakota Holt- Pledger - finished fifth in the high jump.
 
Additionally, each of the eight relays for the boys and girls advanced to the sectional meet.
