On April 23-24, the region meet was held at Greater Atlanta Christian School. The Cambridge track and field team, having won the boys and girls title in this tough region last year, was up to the challenge of defending the titles against the six other teams. At the end of the competition, the team finished in second in both divisions. However, the Bears had a number of outstanding performances during the two days and advanced a number of athletes by virtue of their top four finishes to state sectional on May 4 at Greenbrier High School.
Among the noteworthy performances:
Jessica Chan - third in pole vault
Sanam Rangaraj - winning the 1600 and 3200 meters (both personal beats)
Lilah Versluis - winning the triple jump and high jump; third in the long jump (personal best); and third in the 100 meter hurdles (personal best)
Kai McCarley - fourth in the 400 meters (personal best)

In addition, both the boys and girls 4x800 meter and 4x200 meter relays advanced, along with the boys 4x100 meter and 4x400 meter relays.
