Swim and Dive First Region Match Up vs. Westminster

Cambridge Takes on Westminster for First Region Match Up

Cambridge and Westminster have been each other's biggest competition in the past few years at the state meet, and now that match-up has made its way into region competition as well. Both teams want to take home the state championship at the end of the season, so this was their first match-up of the season. The next will be at Region Championships on December 14th. In this first match-up, Cambridge came up short against the swimming and diving powerhouse, but the team walked away with many new state qualifying times, many new best times, and two additional Iron Bears.

For our athletes of the meet, the team recognized Campen Dawes, Caroline Gaijo, Gavin Schoeling, and Caroline Gaines. Dawes swam two events that really challenged him and required a lot of energy to complete! His contributions were significant that night! Gaijo played a really important role in stepping up to the top medley and 200-freestyle relay and helping secure top times and finishes! Schoeling and Gaines both earned their Iron Bear titles that night and deserve tons of credit for the hard work and diverse talent required for such a recognition!

The captains recognized our "meet chefs" as Elijah Edison and Taylor Eastman! They "cooked" at this meet!

The Bears will host Milton on November 25th at Cumming Aquatic Center at noon! Come and watch the swimmers and divers as they head into the critical phase of their season in preparation for championship season!
