Cambridge Varsity Softball Shuts Out Riverwood and Sprayberry

Cambridge-14  Riverwood-0  Tuesday, Sept. 15

The Bears took on Riverwood at home Tuesday, Sept. 15th. After the top of 1 a quick three up three down and in the bottom of the first Abigail Wilson starts the Bears off with a double and Becca Cleypool, Lily Valeo, Lindsey Smith, Jensen Cheshire all with a single hit and Heather Kipniss with a double to take the Bears to a 5-0 lead.

Top of two pitcher Keara Napoli strikes all three batters out.  Becca Cleypool hits a double in the bottom of two and with errors from the Riverwood defense Abigail Wilson and Lily Valeo get on base with singles by Keara Napoli, Jensen Cheshire, Jordan Crosby.and Abigail Wilson, the Bears take the lead to 11-0.

Bottom of three the Bears again score three runs with hits from Lily Valeo, Jordan Crosby, Taylor Greene- Bears up 14-0.  

Pitcher Anna Allen comes in top of the 4th and gets a quick three outs to end the game. 

During the game, the Bears celebrated their three seniors, Lily Valeo, Jordan Crosby, and Lindsey Smith!  

 

Cambridge-8  Sprayberry-0  Thursday, Sept. 17 

The Bears traveled to Marietta Thursday, Sept. 17th and took on the Sprayberry Yellow Jackets.

With hits from Abigail Wilson and Courtney Campbell and a walk and fielders choice Bears get on the board 1-0.

In the top of the 3rd hits by Mariah Kubik and Lily Valeo and triple by Keara Napoli the Bears go up 3-0.

Top of the 5th, Lily Valeo singles and Courtney Campbell hits a beautiful Home Run!  

Two more singles from Keara Napoli and Lindsey Smith the Bears go up 7-0. Bears bring in one more run in the top of the 6th with a final score of 8-0.  

Pitcher Keara Napoli had 14 strikeouts and solid defensive plays made by Abigail Wilson, Taylor Greene, Jensen Cheshire, Courtney Campbell, and Lindsey Smith give the Bears another win and continue to stay undefeated.
