Lady Bears JV Soccer Defeats Forsyth Central 3-1, on Hat Trick by Cat Powers

The Cambridge Girl's JV Team played excellent on Thursday night, Feb. 25th. They won 3-1 over Forsyth Central, led by a hat trick by Goalie/Forward Cat Powers (#32/#41) as she scored all 3 goals of the game! 

At 18:00 minutes, Lauren Pearson (#30) has a beautiful shot, but just misses to get First in for Cambridge. At 16:00 minutes in, Rebecca Davis (#27) goes to score and also just barely misses. Finally, at 12:00 minutes, the 1st goal is scored Cat Powers, a beautifully deflected push into goal. Cambridge leads 1-0 going into the 2nd half.

The first few minutes into the 2nd half, Cat Powers has a beautiful run from the back directly into the goal, scoring to put Cambridge up 2-0. With 25:00 left in the 2nd half, Forsyth Central is able to push a goal in the corner as Anna Johnson (#0) dives but misses, making the score 2-1, Bears.

Cambridge comes knocking and Cat Powers scores another goal with 12:00 minutes left in game. Cambridge leads 3-1. At 11:00 minutes left Forsyth Central comes aggressively trying to score, but Anna Johnson comes out with a beautiful slide tackle, and the Bulldogs are denied.  With a few minutes remaining, the Bulldogs try one last effort to score, but Morgan Mairorino (#31) makes a beautiful play on defense to shut down the scoring threat.

Final Score: Cambridge Wins 3-1. 

Next up, the Lady Bears travel to Milton on Monday, Feb. 29th at 5:55 PM. The Lady Bears record is currently 2-1 with hopes to continue the streak!
