Coach Pam Masinko enters her fourth season as head coach of the Cambridge High School Girls’ Lacrosse program after five successful years with Roswell High School. In the three years since Cambridge High School’s opening, Masinko holds a 51-8 overall record with a 22-1 mark in 3AAAAA area games and three state tournament appearances.
In the team's first year as a varsity sport, 2013, the Lady Bears finished with a 16-2 overall record and received a berth in the state tournament. In 2014, the Lady Bears (16-4 overall) finished with a 6-0 record in area games and made their second appearance in the state playoffs. The Lady Bears won an Area Championship with a 16-12 win over highly ranked Northview High School earning Masinko her first Area Championship honor in her career. In 2015, Masinko added another Area Championship and a final four state playoff appearance. Masinko was also awarded the Area 3AAAAA 2014 & 2015 Coach of the Year awards from the Georgia Athletic Coaches' Association (GACA).
During her 5-year tenure at Roswell, the Lady Hornets posted four top five state rankings and appeared in four state tournaments. In 2009 & 2010, not only did Roswell earn their first consecutive state playoff bids in school history, but reached the Elite 8 both seasons. In the following two campaigns, 2011 & 2012, she brought the team to greater heights by reaching back-to-back, AAAAA State Championship games and finished as state runner-up both times.
Since 2007, Coach Masinko has actively helped and prepared many D1, D2 & D3 college signees and coached various summer lacrosse club teams for Dixie Chix, Hotlanta Lacrosse and the Eagle Stix programs.
Coach Masinko has been a Georgia resident since 1989. Masinko, a transplant from Brentwood, Long Island, attended high school earning letters in basketball, tennis, and softball. An all-county recipient in basketball and an all-region recipient in softball, Masinko received the Brentwood High School Scholar-Athlete Award upon graduation. Coach Masinko was recruited to play Division I basketball at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA by current Notre Dame Hall of Fame Coach Muffet McGraw. Growing up with a lacrosse stick in her hand, it was a natural fit to become a two-sport athlete at Lehigh, so she joined the women's lacrosse team as a midfielder. During her lacrosse career, Lehigh competed in the 1987 & 1988 Division I NCAA playoffs, finishing nationally ranked in the top 10 in 1988.
Coach Masinko holds a Masters in Teaching from the University of West Georgia and a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Management from Lehigh University. Currently Coach Masinko is certified to teach Business Education and Economics. Coach Masinko is married to husband John, a Philadelphia native, who is a financial advisor for Peachtree Wealth Strategies. The couple has three sports-minded children, Justin, 20, Jessi, 17, and Mac, 12.
Coach Masinko wholeheartedly believes in a TEAM (Together Each Achieves More) philosophy. Trust, communication, integrity, and hard work are among her core team values, which aid in her motivating young women to become winners on and off the field.
