Five of Cambridge High Schools Golf Team hopefuls caddied this weekend at the prestigious United States Collegiate Championship held at the Golf Club of Georgia.
Selected as one of the area High Schools to participate in the event, Coach Vajda sent five students to caddy at the annual NCAA tournament known as "The Masters of College Golf".
This is an elite invitational tournament hosted by Georgia Tech which included fifteen of the top ranked teams in Division I College Golf including USC, Stanford, Duke, Oklahoma State and Virginia.
The students were chosen to caddy for the 24th ranked Wake Forest Demon Deacons. The boys looped for three rounds and were all given high praise for their efforts by Wake Forest Head Coach Jerry Haas. Representing Cambridge on the bags were; Juniors Evan Goldfuss, Chris Meyer and Thomas Pettigrew, Sophomore Ryan Stachler and Freshman AJ Klabnik.
This was a great opportunity for the boys to be inside the ropes to learn and experience how college golf is played at the highest level.
